The boy himself (by Katnay)

The boy himself (by Katnay)

Theodore Monk is a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, who graduated from the University of Alabama in 2019 with a degree in Information Systems and English, because it seemed like a good idea at the time. He has always loved the world of fantasy, with his favorite authors including the likes of Ursula K. Le Guin, Guy Gavriel Kay, R.F. Kuang, Samuel R. Delaney, and Aiden Thomas.

In 2020, Theodore also managed to stumble headlong into the RPG podcast scene by joining the cast of Forgotten Eras, where he now resides in a persistent state of confusion. If you’re looking for your next fixation, he recommends Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined, Stewpot, For the Honor, Punch Detective, and Anyone Can Wear the Mask. He can also be found writing for the second season of queer SFF audio drama Additional Postage Required.

In 2022, after a long time dabbling, Theodore finally made the leap into narrative design via collaboration on the fantasy horror title Mnemesis with studio Myth Atelier. He continues to work with the Myth Atelier team, taking personal inspiration from the likes of Spiritfarer, Like a Dragon, Disco Elysium, Mass Effect, and Zero Escape.

He can be found in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where he spends his free time:

  • Baking

  • Recording cursed podcast episodes

  • Making weird tabletop RPGs

  • Playing weird tabletop RPGs

  • Practicing pop songs on guitar

  • Being bisexual

  • Crying about the Spiritfarer soundtrack again

  • Watching anime where big men hit each other so hard they die

  • Writing, occasionally

Theodore is available for hire for screenwriting, narrative design, lore and character work, and all other forms of writing big and small. He is also seeking representation for his first novel, King & Kira.
